Sailing

Along with caving and rock climbing, sailing is one of our core weekend adventure activities, which we will pick up again once lockdown has fully eased.

Sailing is one of those life skills that can be enriching for all of their futures. Being able to control and safely manage your own boat, and chart its course, is incredibly empowering and confidence building. It also happens to be a lot of fun and, according to the kids, is not to be missed!

Most of our long term members are onto their RYA Stage 3 certificates in mono hull dinghy sailing, but novice sailors will be carefully prepared for RYA Stages 1 and 2.

Unfortunately this one of the more expensive weekend activities, but we do our best to keep the costs down with self-catering accommodation and travelling by minibus. It may not be cheap, but a weekend on the water with BBQ evenings, fun & games, night walks and crabbing along the coast is a real blast and makes memories that last a lifetime.

They usually come back completely exhausted but with a windswept smile on their faces.

As we move forward we're hoping to get them to try sailing catamarans and we’re also planning longer yacht weekends for them.
Boredom is just not an option.
